104th Birthday Celebrated By Neighborhood Parade In Arlington

The snowflakes stopped and the sun came out Sunday, Feb. 7 in Green Valley just in time for Mary Lockett’s surprise 104th birthday car parade. Lockett sat bundled up on the porch of the house on S. Kenmore where she has lived since she was born. Happy birthday music blared out of the house next door, and neighbors across the street danced to the rhythm. Third Annual 5K Home Run For The Homeless To Be Held In Arlington

Community Lodgings, Bridges to Independence, and Homestretch are local homeless outreach and community organizations. They are hosting their Third Annual 5K Home Run for the Homeless to raise support for Northern Virginia homeless families. This event will take place virtually, giving runners the ability to run when and where they would like between last Saturday, Oct. 10, World Homeless Day, and Saturday, Oct. 31. Arlington Central Library Initiates “Hold Pickup”

If you want to keep on reading during the brave new world of coronavirus rules and restrictions, then the Arlington Central Library on Quincy Street has a “hold pickup” initiative for you. It allows a library patron to order books in advance and pick them up at one of the three stations inside the library auditorium. How Baseball Will Be Like In Arlington This Summer?

Youth sports are playing a key role in helping kids get through the coronavirus pandemic as Northern Virginia begins Phase Two of its gradual reopening. Arlington Little League chief Adam Balutis said baseball is not going to look the way it did last summer.
